The Activities of the group Cafimar begins in the ’50s, when the Commander Salvatore Cafiero acquires the ownership of the fleet Scinicariello, already working since 1880 at first with cargo ships, and later with the tankers. The initiative of the Commander Cafiero directed the development of the group towards the activities of the trailer of the harbour, at the start based in the port of Augusta, along with the trailer on the high seas, assistance and rescue of ships in distress.
